We learned this week, Gamescom will be back in August in person . The European event has so far been the only unmissable event on the gaming scene in 2022 since the organizers of E3 have remained surprisingly silent. Well this silence has been broken, but the new information is not really reassuring.
A final last stand?
After the cancellation of the physical show confirmed in January, the organizers of E3 2022 have presumably opted for a digital-only format for the second time in a row. It is the American classification organization ESRB which seems to have confirmed the news with the developers this Thursday via a simple email. We owe this indiscretion to the insider Tom Henderson who is always well informed.
E3 will be an entirely digital event again this year according to the ESRB who sent out emails to developers today.

So, contrary to what we heard at the very beginning of the year, E3 2022 should not be canceled. Unfortunately, the holding of a dematerialized event is not something to celebrate after a relatively tasteless 2021 edition marked by major absences. It remains to be seen if the Californian show will be able to go up the slope.
