Since its creation in 1995, Housemarque has distinguished itself on several occasions thanks to its games with extremely well thought-out arcade gameplay. Dead Nation , Super Stardust and Resogun are among the Finnish studio's most popular productions. But it was with Returnal launched last year that the small company of around 70 people gained notoriety among the general public.
Not immediately
However, Housemarque, which was acquired by Sony last June , probably does not intend to embark on a Returnal 2 right away. Indeed, the studio boss himself confirmed that his team was currently working on a new license. During the interview with VentureBeat , the main interested party also said that the project is just beginning.
So, don't expect a sequel just yet. Since the studio is not even composed of a hundred developers, it is difficult to imagine that a Returnal 2 could be developed in parallel with a new license. However, that doesn't mean that this sequel won't happen one day.
