Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson, who surpassed his target of 100 million subscribers back in July, has developed into one of the YouTubers on the Google-owned network who has had the greatest growth over the past few years.
He has now surpassed longtime Swedish creator PewDiePie to take the top spot for most subscribers on the website.
Mr. Beast now has the most subscribers on YouTube.
MrBeast surpassed PewDiePie's subscriber number on November 14, 2022, by a margin of few thousand subs at the time of writing, with a total of 111,851,893 on his primary channel. MrBeast is now the most subscribed individual content creator on the Google-owned platform thanks to this accomplishment.
In July 2022, Donaldson overtook PewDiePie as the second individual to ever gain 100 million views on YouTube. Just a few short weeks later, the creator responded. PewDiePie, who is no longer active on YouTube, was thrilled for MrBeast to usurp him as the leader of the channel, motivating him to keep working toward this goal.
“Come on, I’ve been retired for like 2 years now. I can’t wait for it to be over […] that’s alright he definitely deserves it. I hope he does it,” PewDiePie said.
Both of the renowned content producers have not yet commented on the recent success, but we'll keep you informed as soon as they do.
To commemorate reaching 100 million subscribers, MrBeast held a contest in which he gave away a private island. Now, many people are wondering what he will do next.
