A few days away from finally taking off on Nintendo Switch , No Man's Sky wishes to reassure fans once again by ensuring that it is still on the right path to redemption since its catastrophic launch in 2016 . Its creator, the now well-known (and not only for good reasons) Sean Murray insisted that the game will simply not include any microtransactions.
Since its launch, the game has been constantly "corrected" via free updates deployed regularly by Hello Games (the creators of the game). If today the game can be considered frankly good and very close to the initial vision announced by Sean Murray , it must be remembered that No Man's Sky was initially sold on lies before finally reborn for free from its ashes thanks to the incredible support provided by its developers over the years. Wanting to reassure fans worried about seeing the support for the game via these various life-saving and generous updates suddenly end,
A lot of people tell us that there are several alternative business models but we enjoy our model and really enjoy working on the game. We have this really positive and welcoming community that I'm really excited to do updates and continue to take care of this game.
Asked about the very present microtransactions in games that are also regularly updated for free such as Fortnite or Rocket League , the creator of No Man's Sky answered this:
It's cool that they can do that, it's great, but that's not what we do, we're different. It's probably very naive, but there are historical reasons why we started without microtransactions, reasons why we believe our model is the right model for our game right now.
Enough to promise a bright free future for No Man's Sky as soon as it lands on Nintendo Switch on October 7th.
