Durante gli eventi di RWBY Volume 7, i giocatori prenderanno il controllo del Team RWBY e passeranno dall'uno all'altro al volo in azione da soli o in multiplayer (locale o online) mentre usano le armi e i sembianti che li contraddistinguono per fermare una nuova misteriosa minaccia in questa avventura 2D a scorrimento laterale.Esplorando Atlas, Mantle e le numerose ambientazioni circostanti, i giocatori dovranno affrontare le Creature di Grimm e altri nemici tratti direttamente dalla serie, oltre a minacce mai viste prima. La squadra incrocia anche volti noti, come il Generale Ironwood e gli Ace Operatives, oltre a un nuovo gruppo di impavide cacciatrici noto come Team BRIR.
