Playoff disaster for Karmine Corp and Rekkles, eliminated by BDS Academy

After last week's air conditioning against LDLC OL, it's a cold shower for Karmine Corp, which lost 1-3 to Team BDS Academy and ends this LFL Spring Split 2022 with a Top 3. For the first time since joining the LFL, the KCorp is not going to playoff finals.

TOO BIG A DIFFERENCE IN LEVEL

The kickoff of these spring split playoffs was already two weeks ago, Wednesday March 16, with the first match of the first of Round 1, BDS Academy (3rd overall) against GamersOrigin (6th overall ), a BO5 which finally ended in a victory for the Swiss structure with a score of 3-1. The next day, it was the turn of Misfits Premier (4th in the standings) and Vitality.Bee (5th in the standings) to make their appearance in Summoner's Rift for the account of the second meeting of this first round of the 'tree ; the encounter was cut short with an impressive victory for Diplex and his mates with a score of 3-0, thus qualifying for the second round of the qualifiers, as well as for the next edition of the European Masters, along with BDS Academy. The following week took place the long-awaited clash between LDLC OL and Karmine Corp, the two best teams of the regular season, and it was finally the team led by Ragner, Eika and Exakick who won on a score of 3-0. ; With this demonstration-like victory, Lounet's men qualified for the final of the playoffs and also validated their ticket for the Main Event of the European Masters.

While LDLC OL patiently await their next opponent, KCorp are back in Summoner's Rift, this time against BDS Academy, a team that went on to win against Vitality.Bee; the winner of the BO5 will join the Lyon team in the final of these playoffs and will validate at the same time his ticket for the Main Event of the EUM. This is an opportunity for Rekkles and his mates to return to victory after the violent underperformance recorded last week; The last encounter raised a lot of questions about training, understanding the meta, and the fitness of some members of this Karmine team, including 113 and Hantera.

The match started relatively well for KCorp who opened the scoring from the start in this BO5; the game is however really disputed, and this, in spite of a large domination in early/mid game. Team BDS Academy proved to be more combative and very solid in the mid/late game than expected, with much better managed teamfights; it's essentially Rekkles who comes to free his teammates thanks to his level of play on Zeri. It is after this first game that the situation is drastically complicated for Rekkles and his mates who literally collapsed, losing three games in a row, and moreover the meeting. In addition to the fact that the KCorp are not necessarily shown at their level in this BO5, the BDS Academy adapted perfectly well to their opponents of the day and played really well,

Although the defeat is obviously collective, this new poor performance unfortunately once again highlights the 113 / Hantera problem, especially in game 4, especially since Cabochard and Saken were absolutely unable to s express in this soundtrack. The two young rookies of this Karmine Corp team did not show themselves to be up to speed this evening, two players who suffer from a cruel lack of experience. For the first time since arriving in the LFL, Karmine Corp is not going to be a playoff finals player. It's a huge disappointment for Kameto and the KCorp staff who will have their work cut out to get their team back on track for the Summer Split.

The 2022 LFL Spring Split playoffs will resume tonight with the grand finale of these playoffs, LDLC OL vs KArmine Corp. Kameto's men will have a chance to exact revenge and secure their second LFL title, but it won't be that easy as the Foxes showed throughout the regular season. , and especially last week, that they are a more than solid team, in tune with the meta, showing impressive team cohesion.
